Serves: 4 people
Ingredients:
1 cup bengal gram flour3 cups buttermilk
A pinch of turmeric powder
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
2-3 green chilies (thinly sliced)
1/2 teaspoon grated coconut
1 teaspoon coriander leaves (chopped)
Water for steaming
Salt as required
Method:
- Take a bowl, add gram flour, buttermilk, salt and turmeric powder and whisk well so that no lumps remain.
- Take a steamer add some water and heat it on high flame.
- Place the bowl in the steamer and cook for 5-10 minutes.
- Again, remove, mix well.
- Spread the cooked batter over a greased thali to a very thin circle, while its still hot.
- Cool and cut into strips 2-3 inch wide and 9- 10 inch long, and roll them neatly.
- Now, heat the oil in a tadka pan, add mustard seeds, chilies and sesame seeds, saute for 10 seconds.
- Spread the tempereing over the khandvi and garnish with grated coconut and coriander leaves.
